Children's Health Policy

The Children's and Family Ministries Committee, the Session and Church School teachers of Fairmount Presbyterian Church welcome all children to Church School and the nursery on Sunday mornings. children gather and check in after leaving worshipIn the interest of best public health practices and care for the children at Fairmount, we ask that families use the following guidelines when bringing children to church.

Illness
In the event of an acute illness such as fever, severe cough or cold, influenza, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, earache, skin rash, or eye infection, we ask that you keep your child at home. Your child should be free of fever or free of signs of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications for 24 hours. In the event of strep, conjunctivitis, and other bacterial infections, your child should be on antibiotics for 24 hours before coming to church school. If these symptoms appear while your child is in church school, we will notify you so that you can take your child home for his/her own sake and for the protection of the other children.

Contagious Disease
Please notify Fairmount Presbyterian Church in the event of head lice, chickenpox, measles, mumps, pinworms, strep or any other easily contagious viral or communicable illnesses. If indicated, we will alert parents that children may have been exposed to a contagious illness.

Allergies
If your child has an allergy of any kind, please see that your child’s teachers know what allergies he/she has and what the reactions are. If there are specific foods your child cannot eat let your child’s teacher know.

Thank you in advance for caring for all the children of the church by following these guidelines.
